The Frankenstein Project

Registration is open until August 15, 2016 for The Frankenstein Project, the inaugural offering from the Teen Learning Lab, a group formed by several HSGS members to support homeschooling teens.

The Frankenstein Project is an inter-disciplinary, year-long pilot project that gives homeschooled high school students the opportunity to explore the intersections of science, history, literature, film, and technology through the lenses of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, the history of science, bioethics, and robotics. Students will develop skills in research, literary, historical, and scientific analysis, composition, communication, and project development. The year will culminate in student-designed projects that will be presented to the public. Additional costs for field trips, movie nights, and other group events are to be determined. This project is open to homeschooled students ages 13 and up.

Classes will meet 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for 26 weeks on Fridays in Skokie, IL.

First semester: Sept. 9 (student organizing meeting) to Nov. 18, 2016.
Second semester: Jan. 13, 2017 to April 28. (NO CLASSES on Friday, April 14 for Good Friday.)

For more information and how to register, visit the Teen Learning Lab's website.
